Legacy billiards reddit12/10/2023 For me the game allowed for enough different play styles that I could focus on raiding and gaining glory by getting key advisors others focused on ship upgrades or exploring or economics. I consistently finished 2nd place and rarely won a single game but ended up winning the campaign because my engine allowed me to rain destruction right as we all knew the end game. The last two each had their own systems but just couldn’t keep up with the top three. We played with a group of five of us and it started out with a runaway leader but then two of us developed pretty nice engines that kept us within striking distance. I've never felt like legacy was a cash-grab - I figure there's nothing wrong with paying for one-and-done experiences. We've got a few more missions to play, then after that I'll still keep the game as the deckbuilder-with-board game of my collection. ![]() Clank Legacy I've destroyed, stickered, and written on as we went through it - I'd researched and learned that the end product is an actually decent game of Clank with expansions built in. In another few years, I'll reset the road and city decks and try playing with my kids - at which point having already enhanced cards might actually be good to give the kids a bit of extra power. All the "destroyed" cards have just been set aside. We stickered the board and the cards with the stickers that came with the game (removable didn't exist when we started anyway). Gloomhaven is far less a legacy game, and is more just a fancy campaign. We've got a copy of Regular Pandemic in the group, so no need to be gentle with this one. Pandemic Legacy was, to us, entirely about the legacy and story. Sadly we never finished the campaign because someone moved international. None of us like Risk enough to want to keep the game afterward, so destroying stuff felt fine. Risk Legacy was our first, and we tore into the components with abandon. I base the decision on the sort of game, and what I expect to do with it once the campaign is done.
